What's a good food to get my protein from?!

Question:

What's a good food to get my protein from?

i love eating fruits ,especially bananas but....i know that my fruity diet is missing protein but i also don't want to get fat or really cook the food...do you have any suggestions on how to get my protein or other missing vitamins and stuff? i'm very uneducated on healthy food, but i love becoming vegan.

Answers:
Quinoa is a great grain to eat because it is chock full of protein. It's made and used kind of like rice. Beans are good, I make a rice and veggie stir fry and add kidney beans. Hummus is a good source too. Check out vatiations on these ideas and check for recipes at :

Also check yout local library for vegan cook books.
Good luck.

lentils, nuts(soynuts have a lot), egg substitute-if u like em, milk products, and beans. be sure to take a multivitamin pill because u may need the insurance. because u like fruits so much, how bout trying lowfat or fatfree yogurt with nuts and sliced bananas. be sure to include whole grains in meals.

i hope im of some help. =)

All those answers are great! If you eat 2 second class proteins together it will =a first class protein example : Cheese +beans or peanut butter + tofu

fish and egg whites and somes the the yolk are the best proteins. BUT HANDS DOWN EGG WHITES ARE THE BEST OF THE BEST. THERE IS NO BETTER FORM OF PROTEIN BETTER.

I HEARD THAT SOY PRODUCTS ARE FILLED WITH PROTEIN
AND ARE REALLY REALLY HEALTHY!!

Tofu is the highest "quality" source of protein for vegans and vegetarians. Also try vegetarian meat substitutes and beans, if you like the taste.

Beans, nuts, seeds and veggies. Also switch to whole wheat bread.

FYI..Just a factoid: Even Fritos have protein : )

beans and nuts are loaded with protein.
vegetarians are supposed to incorporate lots of beans into their meals because instead of getting protein from meat, they need to get it from something that has just as much as the meat.

also, if you don't find yourself getting enough protein, try protein bars or protein shakes. sometimes they have ones that taste good, but i personally don't know which ones because i dont eat them.
