Stupid question ~ Boca Burger patty, had in freezer a while is it still good?!

Question:

Stupid question ~ Boca Burger patty, had in freezer a while is it still good?

This is probably a stupid question, but I just wanna make sure. I'm in the mood for a 'burger' and fries tonight for dinner and I have this Boca Burger patty that's been sitting in my freezer for what seems like years now. Ok, maybe not years, but I know it's been sitting in there for several months. The box says, "Best When Used By March 21, 2007" So that means it's still safe to eat right? Just wanna make sure, I'm pregnant and don't wanna risk eating anything potentially dangerous. (I wish I could go for the real thing but I've had problems digesting red meat since having my gallbladder removed a few years ago, so that's why I'm opting for the Boca burger.) Thanks.

Answers:
LOL. I have this problem quite often. (I just forget they're up there).
As long as you eat it before the date on the box, you should be okay. I have consumed a Boca Burger before with a little layer of freezer burn on it and I'm still alive. :-) I think you should be okay!

I don't see why it would be bad for you if it was frozen properly all this time. And it hasn't expired either. I can't speak from a pregnancy point of view, but even a little freezer burn is just frost.

Yes, it still safe. Soy protein is not particularly suseptable to freezer burn either.

It should still be safe, but it may taste a bit freezer-burned - you may want to season it up a bit more to overcome that taste.

It is still good. They don't have any alkaloids preservatives or dairy products made with them, that would spoil or start to make them smell bad.

It would still be safe to eat after that date. It says 'best when used by...........' That means that after that date it may lose some of it's freshness but it should still be safe.

it's not march 21 2007 yet, so go for it!!!
