soy is not what people are ment to eat, if we were intended to eat it, it would taste good by itself with out prosesing, it is unhealthy in the long run

broccoli doesn't tase good either.

There are a million or more Chinese who would beg to differ with you.
Let me add the site looks suspiciously like a propaganda link for some beef group. They are notorious for that sort of goofiness. Although I would agree with you that soy may not be the "great" miracle food it is often touted to be but I do stand by the fact that there are many in the orient who use soy products.
Tofu, tempeh, soy sauce, etc. But that also doesn't account for the fact that your "beef" is about vegetarians. And last I checked eating soy products is not a requirement of being a vegetarian.

Show some data to support that please.

Well, if the only foods that are good for us are the ones that taste good, then I guess we should all be eating pizza and junk food.

that wrong. so many people out there only eat soy and they live much longer then people who eat meat and eat everything that is processed. natural food is better for you. dont believe everything you read online.

well i know that soy cheese looks very processed and probably isnt so good for you. but soy is good for you unless your alergic or cant digest it.

1. Soy beans DO taste good without processing. Ever hear of edamame?

2. Meat generally isn't eaten without processing. Usually it's cooked at high temperatures. Obviously we aren't intended to eat it then.

3. I like how the link doesn't even have anything to do with the question.

I'm not sure about your facts, but I will point out that people WERE meant to eat meat. It's been that way since the beginning of time. Native Americans did, didn't they? That's how they survived. It's just natural. I can understand why some people don't, but they shouldn't bark at me because I do.

thanks for the info. you saved my life.

My Chinese relatives might have a slight disagreement with that statement -- considering that my grandfather lived to be 92 and my grandmother was 99 when she died, just two weeks short of her 100th birthday. I guess if tofu hadn't shortened their lives, they'd have made it to 120, eh?

And unless you're really into steak tartare, meat doesn't taste good by itself without processing. So by your line of logic, if we were intended to eat meat, it would come already roasted with an apple in its mouth.

First: studies have shown that vegetarians generally live longer than meat-eaters.

Second: not all vegetarians eat soy products.

Third: if people only ate things that taste really good the whole world would be obese.

Forth: where is your research showing that meat products are better for health and the environment?

Im a vegetarian and i have been for 5 years and i have soy every day and im more healthy than i ever was!!!
scientist beleave that people who are vegetarina ( and have soy ) will last 15 years longer than a meat eater! plus it is much healthier and it it is 70% more likely that vegetarians will NOT get heart cancer , lung cancer and liver cancer ect.ect...
what people say about vegos being really sick and get unhealthy is just full of lies cause i know im not unhealthy! im probably more healthier than U!
And im only 13 for god sake lmao!
naaa but it is great for your health and SOY SOY SOY 4 EVERY1!

Thanks and I will not use these soy products ever and keep my same diet indeed. Just to think I was gonna start using soy for the myth reason given and now that I know better forget that.

Does that mean that in our old age we will not have to listen to their whining about not eating meat, because they will have predeceased us?

Since when did being a vegetarian mean living off of soy products?

I will agree that processed foods arent usualy all that great for a persons health. But eating processed soy products in moderation is not such a bad thing compaired to many other things a person could eat..

It sounds like you misunderstand vegetarians... Out diet does "not" mostly consist of soy, some vegetarians don't even eat soy. As for myself I eat only a small amount of soy. I mostly eat fruits, vegetables, whole grains foods, nuts, seeds etc.

I could give you a bunch of wicked nasty facts about animal products, but if you want to find out you could google it and find information on these topics NO PROBLEM guaranteed.

I have been a ovo-lacto vegetarian for 7 years. I have now become vegan, and for 6 weeks now.

actually... people were not created to be omnivores...

many science forms of how we look and what features we have proove that we are natural-born vegetarians...

and by the way
vegetarians live 6-7 years longer...

You're 180 degrees from the right direction.

Let's see, now. On their own, how good to potatoes taste? Plain ordinary boiled potatoes, boiled in unsalted water and served with nothing on them?

How about eggplant - on it's own it's generally bitter

Soybeans, actual soybeans and not soy products, do taste good on their own. Have you ever purchased, prepared and eaten a package of frozen edamame - actual soybeans with no seasoning?

Have you ever tried eating uncured olives? I'll answer that one for you - no, because they aren't sold uncured. No one, absolutely no one, eats uncured olives because the curing of olives provides just about all of the flavor.

Now that I've debunked your theory about taste and any possible correlation to health, (it was soooo easy), let's move on to some of your other assertions.

Like it or not, vegetarians do live longer and healthier than do omnivores, and vegans live longer and healthier than do vegetarians. There are far, far too many studies that say just that for the one that you've quoted to have any basis in reality.

And then, of course, there's the simply fact that soy is hardly the only food used by vegetarians and vegans.

And further, whether you want to believe it or not, humans really are simply NOT meant (you might try a spelling lesson once in a while, too) to consume the milk, eggs or flesh of any other species.

Umm... are you serious? Soy in its natural form (which is edamame ) tastes delicious.

How about you stop worrying about us and start worrying about ecoli. =]

did you know that meat rotts in your stomach - its not actually digested by the human body.

Sure, kiddo, beef-eaters live longer - is that why the last two CEO's of McDonald's died of heart failure and cancer respectively?
Go to http://web.cancernutritioninfo.com/main.... a website on nutrition for people affected by cancer. This is what it says about soya: "New studies tell us that eating soy foods appears to reduce risk of many cancers, including breast cancer, endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer, and prostate cancer. Research suggests that even risk of lung cancer may be reduced by eating more soy foods!"

Japanese have been eating soy for centuries.

They also live pretty damn long and healthy lives.
