Is it true that all German wines are vegan?!
Is it true that all German wines are vegan?
Is there any way of being certain when I'm in a bar that a particularly wine is vegan.
Answers:
Who on earth told you that? German made beers should be ok but wines? The only way to know if a wine is vegan is to ask the winery what clarifying agents they use. Last time I looked their laws were the same as everywhere else and they allow egg and fish products to be used. Rheinheitsgebot (sp?) only applies to beer!
No, unfortunately all German wine contains lamb extract and poultry traces.
Who said that? don't believe it so easily.
The link below usually has info on that sort of thing.
Try going to this site to see if you can find what your looking for. It list many different vegan wines.

highly unlikely.
You can almost garantee that wine in a pub is not veggie / vegan.
Generally wines will use ground-bounds ( they call it "charcoal" ) isinglass or egg ) so the majority are not veggie, let alone vegan
I haven't yet met a German who fully understands what a vegan is. Give me a beer and a big fat German sausage and I won't be asking what's in them.
OMG, i didn't realise that animal extracts were used in any sort of alcohol.. now that has put me wine
Check your wine against these lists:

Haven't you got anything more interesting to think about when socialising? There is way more to life than worrying about whether anything you consume has ever come into contact with an animal or anything derived from an animal.
No
No.
European wines and beers have something called finnings added to them during the process of making them. The finnings don't end up directly in the final product but the are placed in the same container for some time and later removed. These finnings come from several sources but all are animal in origin.
It is best to check with manufactures or lists of vegan wines and find your favorites. Then you can order those when you go out to the bar.
