Has anyone here gone from omnivore to being vegan?!

Question:

Has anyone here gone from omnivore to being vegan?

Answers:
Yes, I grew up eating meat. We didn't eat alot of meat, and when we did we usualy had sea food, chicken, turky etc. At age 12 I was inspired by a realy nice vegan family that our family became close to. We learned so much from them (=.. So I decided to become a ovo-lacto vegetarian. I stayed that way for 7 years, and just a couple months ago I spent alot of time researching on a vegan diet vrs a omnivorous diet. Alot of what I have learned came from yahoo answers (: !! With all the awsome websites and information people share on yahoo answers, and a little research of my own I became a vegan about 3 weeks ago.

I am very glad I made this choice, I have already experianced good results from my change. A skin rash I used to have on my shoulders and back for as long as I can remember is very quickly disappearing (I think it was dairy related).

I have always been a very active person with lots of energy, but WOW do I ever feel amazing now! It's up and at it every morning feeling great! 6 hourse of sleep is all i need (used to need 8 or 9) I feel the NEED to lots of physical activity every day, I used to feel good with the exercise I got at work (a trail riding ranch) I do lots of runing, lifting, pulling, pushing you name it! but when I get home In the afternoon I feel like I need to do more! So thats what I do :P

Yes, I have done that. It was the same day I quit smoking and gave up alcohol.

Worst 30 minutes of my life.

BTW, I am joking. I have the highest respect for the Vegan lifestyle.

Yes, I know someone who did that 6 years ago. Except they are not vegan , since he eats dairy .

It was not easy as he had to really be disciplined and eat a variety of foods.
So yes , it can be done and some people claim it is a healthier option.

Yes. I was an omnivore a little over four
years ago. I gradually stopped eating
meat and 2 years ago decided to stop
buying animal based clothing, cosmetics
etc..

i have been a vegetarian for 20 years and i feel great, had not consulted the doctor since, more people should try it or at least try to eat less meat because meat produce lots of toxin in the intestine when it has to travel a long way before being discharge, intestine of meat eater is three times it body but our intestine is six times our body,be a vegetarian and best of health

i went from being raised on meat to becoming the only vegetarian in my family. one day i do hope to become a vegan. i look up to vegans because they have so much will power to give up so much and compashion towards animals.
