Deb above has just beaten me to it - you aren't vegetarian because you eat fish. No matter what anyone tries to tell you, vegetarians do not eat any animal - and I don't think anyone can tell you a fish is not an animal!
If nothing else, from these replies I would hope that you now know how to spell vegetarian.
So - give up the fish - you can still eat eggs if you want, but please try to ensure they are free-range and vegetarian-fed. You can get protein from a whole lot of sources - pulses (lentils, beans). Your vitamin needs will be met by lots of green, red and yellow vegetables. I have been vegetarian for 18 years, and have never had any problems with lack of protein, or anaemia or any of the other health scares that the media like to associate with cruelty-free living and eating.
If you are serious about being a vegetarian, you need to research it online, go for it and stick to it.
Cheese and eggs will provide you with protein as will dishes that combine both rice (preferably brown) and beans or lentils.
Your best bet though, is to go see your doctor and tell him/her about your vegetarianism and ask for dietary advice.
I got a high protein drink for you...
spelled = vegetarian
There is protein in nuts, peanut butter, eggs, cheese, insects.
The human body was meant to consume meat. You will eventually lose muscle mass and energy on a vegetarian diet.
You could start by spelling it correctly by copy & pasting the Category you posted this question in!!! lol. Eat chicken, turkey, and tofu, and other soy, beans, legumes products, etc... They aren't bad at all. I know vegans that actually have a beef jerky once in very great while (Yeah, you read that right. VEGANS eat beef).
Soy protein comes in the form of tofu, seitan, tempeh and others. Vegetarians also eat beans, soy beans, chick peas, lentils kidney beans, baked beans, etc.
Go to a health food store and you will find these products and many more and people who can help you learn how to cook these.
This is a healthy diet. Good luck.
rice and beans together are considered a complete food.
you can also use soy products. many are quite good. try some tofu (bean curd) in a stir fry. soy milk tastes great, despite the color and can be used in whole grain cereals and other recipes.
include fruits and vegetables (raw and cooked) on a daily basis too.
you can buy veggie burgers already made or make up your own.
also replace that burger with a grilled portabella mushroom. you'd be surprised how good they are.
oh, and it's VEGETARIAN, just so you know. good luck!
meat!
Beans and nuts. Eggs and dairy too (unless you're vegan).
It is always better to use beans as the main protein source and not dairy. This is because dairy has no iron in it to replace that of meat. Beans and nuts do. This also includes tofu and soy products and there are a lot of them out there. Just don't stick to a single food.
go back yo meat
legumes, nuts, eggs,......
Hun you AREN'T a vegetarian, you still eat fish. To become a vegetarian you cannot eat ANY meat (some people think that chicken and fish aren't meat, they are). Take a multi-vitamin once a day. There's also a brand out there called Morning Star Farms, my personal favorite brand of vegetarian food. You could also look for Amy's (which is also just organic ingrediants) as well as Quorn. You can find protein in peanut butter (I believe that is what people have said on here) Not sure where else you can find it.
