How Much Extra B-12 should we take?!
How Much Extra B-12 should we take?
I'm not taking any and I think I should be.

I'm not sure, but here's a really cool website that says the best way (short of an injection) is to snort between 100 to 1,000 mcg, or at least to make a paste and put that in your nose:

I take a multivitamin from a brand called "Nature's Bounty". The name is "Multi-Day Plus Iron" it has everything you need including B-12 so you don't need to worry whether you have enough vitamins...great for vegetarians...you can find it in any drugstore or online
If you're a vegan, and drinking any soy milk that is commerically produced in North America, you're getting enough B12. If not, you can add nutritional yeast to your diet.
Other than that, the only people who need to be concerned about B12 are those with absorption problems. That would be anyone who has had gatric bypass surgery or a partial or full gastrectomy and those with pernicious anemia.
if you eat eggs and milk you don't need any b12
if not take a multivitamin it contains 100% b12 needed daily
on a side note, I was at the store today and looked at a bottle of B12 vitimin it says it contains 16,000% daily needed dosage, that's right 16000, is not a typo, why do I need that much b-12 per day? i did not buy any. very weird to me
Get a b-12 patch,it's the most conveniant way.

If you eat a fortified breakfast cereal and eat eggs and cheese, you are getting enough B12.
I recommend eating it naturally in the form of nutritional yeast. you should be able to find it at a local health food store and use it to add a cheesy flavor to just about anything. its great on popped corn, sandwiches, in casseroles, and on veggies.
