Can you eat fish if your a vegan?!

Question:

Can you eat fish if your a vegan?

Answers:
NO.

Vegans do not even eat honey in many cases (exploitation of the bees)

sure....
It says so.....
and recommends one do so...

No. Not meat or seafood products. Being a vegan is more about not harming animals. Most vegans don't eat cheese or drink milk either.

yes, if you are practicing Macrobiotic or Pescetarian (two forms of vegitarian) It really depends upon your reasons for assuming a vegetarian diet and your dietary goals.

Macrobiotic-vegitarian
This is mainly vegetarian but macrobiotic diets often contain seafood. All other meat products are excluded, as are eggs and dairy products. There are different levels of macrobiotic diets.
This diet is based on the Chinese principles of ying (positive) and yang (negative), and people may follow it for philiosphical or spiritual reasons.

Pescetarians/Semi/Demi-Vegetar... -
Generally follow a vegetarian based diet but eat fish

you can, but you wouldnt be vegan. or vegetarian for that matter.

Yes some vegans do eat fish. some don't!

No.

That depend what type of vegetarian you want to be, some vegetarian just skip red meat and eat fish and chicken. Some vegetarian don't eat any thing that comes from animals like cheese, honey etc.

NO! If you are vegan than you do not eat any meat or fish or animal product at all. Some vegetarians eat fish or eggs, but to be a vegan means you do not eat any animal product.

Yes.

I'm getting sick of all these questions, it's the same damn thing! Please read around here before asking questions. Anyway no vegans do not fish. Some people think that being a vegetarian you're still able to eat chicken and fish. It's not true! I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian (I think that's the correct term) which means I don't eat any meat (yes fish is meat) but I do consume dairy products. Vegans are what I call the "strict vegetarians" they don't eat meat OR dairy products (which includes animal by-products). Hope that answers your question.

First of all some of the people who answered before me are confusing veganism and vegetarianism. They are NOT the same. Vegans dont eat any meat, or anything made with meat. They also dont eat any products made by animals, or from any part of an animal. Such as honey or jello. And most wont wear leather or fur.

Vegetarians differ on what they eat. Ovo vegs eat eggs, but not dairy. Lacto vegs eat dairy, but not eggs. And ovo lacto vegs eat both dairy and eggs. There is also pesco vegs who eat fish but no dairy or eggs. There are about as many types of vegetarianism as there are vegetarians.

So I hope that this educated you a little....

and NO vegans do not eat fish....becasue it is animal flesh.

..No fish is an animal which most vegans and vegetarians DONT eat.

No, if you eat fish you cannot call yourself a vegan or a vegetarian. Vegans do not eat any meat or byproduct of any animal (butter, milk, cheese, etc..). Vegetarians do not eat fish! There are different kinds of vegetarians, some eat animal byproducts but do not eat meat! Fish are meat.

If you are vegan you do not eat any animals and animal products. Fish are animals. You are not even vegetarian if you eat fish.

Vegetarians Do NOT eat meat! whether be from an animal/insect. so, the answer to your question is "NO"!
I know there are plenty of ppl out there that claim to be vegetarians who eat fish/white meat. To me, vegetarian is one who eats veggies&fruits

NO VEGANS DONT EAT OR WEAR ANYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH ANIMAL. THEY ARE BASICALLY STUCK TO EATING FRUIT AND VEGGIES BUT THERE IS MORE TO IT READ THIS. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/vegan...

no ofcourse not.vegans don't even drink milk or eat eggs.so why would they eat fish.but you can if you're a vegetairian though.

What? Since a fish is an animal, and both vegetarians and vegans don't eat animals, the answer is NO.

Absolutely not! Etaing fish classifies you as a meateater, so you wouldn't even be a vegetarian! Fish are living breathing beings, not plants.

Vegans live their lives totally devoid of any animal products, clothing, toiletries etc. It;s not just about food, it's a way of life and a belief system.

Vegetarians avoid all animal meat (including fish) but sometimes choose to eat milk and/or eggs as they're not from the animal directly.

I'm vegan, too bad I can't eat people who ask these dumb questions.
