Hello, I am a vegan so I understand where you are coming from! Many restaurants are finally coming around and offering menu items for vegans and vegetarians. Check out this website:

Now, vegans and vegetarians are largely outnumbered in the U.S., but you don't see us bombing burger joints because we think eating meat is wrong, because that is just not effective. Just like refusing to dine with your meat-eating friends or only gracing them with your presence at restaurants that do not serve meat would be ineffective. Instead, I suggest ordering something suitable for you and being prepared with information because they are going to have LOTS of questions about this "different" lifestyle you are living. Check out happycow.net. They give a great list of arguments for being vegetarian that you could discuss with your friends *when they bring it up*. I wouldn't suggest flying at them with vegetarian arguments at the first order of a burger.
The mistreatment of animals is common knowledge, but not everyone has the willpower to give up their chicken, beef, etc. to save these poor animals. Keep your strength but try not to judge. Maybe one day your friends will join you in a veggie burger or a tofu dish!
I guess I just can't see it the same way as you. My feeling is as long as I'm not eating meat then by all means. I'm not sure about restaruants that don't serve meat but there's always an option for vegetarians (besides soups and salads). So are you saying that you can't even sit with your friends even though they're eating the meat and you're not?
Go to Chinese Buffet. They usually are vegetarian friendly.
i cant stand meat either i m a vegetarian and i hate the convosation about when people ask you why and stuff i hate it....whn i go out with friends i always try to lloook at what i am eating instead of what they are eating.....otehrwise i feel sick...tehre isnt really anything i cn say besides ....i kno how you feel
good luck'
luv shaz
I'll tell you just what I told the person on here with the opposite problem( rude meat eatting friends) You are being narrow minded. If it makes you actually ill then don't go to eat with them. I don't know where you live but in most decent size communities now there are Veggies/Vegans restaurants.
I go out with friend allot & just eat my way & let to them do their own thing. Like like them more than I need to change them.
grow up hippie. i haven't eaten meat for 17 years. you can't expect anyone to understand. their loss. eat healthy and look great when they all get fat and ugly. in the meantime, always prepare a bag of trail mix or cheese for outings.
you are what you eat!
USE SPELL CHECK!!!!
WHO says it is wrong to eat meat???
Personally I don't give a flying fig about your getting queasy from seeing people eat meat. I think what YOU should be doing is taking a good hard look at yourself & asking yourself what makes you so self righteous that YOU have the right to judge your friends or ANYONE for that matter.....
Who are YOU to judge others & their choices. Do your friends know you are judging them & that your friendship comes with strings? Do they know that you do NOT reallylike them for who THEY are when apparently they accept you for who & what you are????
Get off your soap box. Stop boo hooing over animals who have but a single purpose on this earth, TO BE FOOD for either humans or other animals. If you don't like eating at restaurants because they serve meat, STAY HOME!!!!!!!!!!!
David Dickerman:
I am so sick of hearing you bleeding hearts talking about the poor animals having the right to live. I am also tired of hearing you saying my ideas are Judeo Christian. Where does anyone get off saying the MY opinions or what I believe is NOT relevent??? What about your beliefs that animals if left alone would lead a wonderful, happy, carefree, life??? Talk about nieve & blind!!!!
People have been killing & eating meat since time began & well before religion, so that B.S. doesn't wash.
WHO SAYS IT IS WRONG TO EAT ANIMALS????
Do NOT tell ME that "I" am wrong for eating meat... Do NOT JUDGE ME!!!! I do NOT judge you for NOT eating meat. The reason people get fed up with vegetarians & vegans & start telling you off or criticizing you is because YOU judge everyone who does NOT agree with you. So, as far as I am concerned, you want to eat veggies & NO meat, FINE I could care less, But then don't get on here JUDGING those of us who choose to eat it & criticize US!!! There is a section in here for Vegans & Vegetarians to comizerate with each other about us meat eating heathens.... GO THERE so the rest of us do NOT have to be judged by you....
Has anyone else noticed that the spell check on Yahoo Answers DOESN'T WORK???
^I didn't do it^,
Animals are not here for a "purpose". That's a Judeo-Christian view which is not relevant here. The choice to not eat animals is an ethical one and a good one. Animals have a right to live.
As a matter of fact, I am still ambivalent over the issue of controlled hunting for meat. But factory farming is not justifiable.
I am a vegetarian too but I have no issues with people eating meat. I certainlly understand that it bothers you to see dead animals eaten. If that's the case stop going to restaurants with your friends. Since becoming a vegetarian.. it has been a total nightmare to find dishes that don't have meat in them. Instead of complaining.. I make my own dishes and save money in the long run. I also control what goes into my meal. And to make it even nicer.. I have lost weight.
Why not go to a movie with your friends? Try bowling (great exercise) or a night club.. anything other then going to a place where you could possibly watch people eating meat. Understand that what you may believe in not all others do. Certainlly you wouldn't want one of your friends to preach a certain relgion to you that you didn't believe in, would you? Be tolerant of others, except others, that's what friends do. Don't judge other people. Treat people how you'd like to be treated. That is the foundation of "friendship".
I've never eaten meat in my life, but I wouldn't want to go to a restaurant with you. You're not going to have that problem for long with that attitude...
There are some, but you are unlikely to get your friends to go there. Mostly Indian-type places. If you are in a decent sized city there is probably a couple around.
The majority of people do not agree with your opinion that eating meat is wrong. That is a simple fact. The evidence is that you can't find a vegetarian restaurant. Your friends are likely to become your ex-friends if you continue to complain to them about it. That doesn't mean YOU can't order something vegetarian.
Part of maturing and growing up is respecting each other's differences. If you are on a crusade to end the world's meat eating, you are going to find yourself with no friends or just a few bitter angry people around you. Your friends probably respect your vegetarian choice, can you not respect theirs?
If they make fun of you it's probably because you harp on them eating dead cow. If you leave it be and just eat what you want they probably will too.
there are lots of vegi resteraunts check your local listings, as for being able to see others eating animals, it's important to remember that you cannot change the entire world overnight. people out there are going to eat meat. they will come around sooner or later. in the meantime, if you truly cant take it, just don't go out to eat with them. eat at home and meet them at the movie theater. it's sad to say, but the more veghead "preach" at them to not eat meat, the more meat they will eat. i know, it gives me nightmares, too! but it is reality and we have to face reality head on. why don't you make some really scrumptious veggie dishes and invite them over so that they can see that vegi is not some sort of punishment and that they can eat really well on a vegi diet. good luck!
trhere same place that make same food like fish vegg fishor just ask you dont like meat just dont go out with frends
