How long does tofu stay fresh in the fridge...?!

Question:

How long does tofu stay fresh in the fridge...?

the date on the package says sell by 12/25???

Answers:
Tofu is made from soybeans, and beans can go bad in a few days, if not cooked, frozen, or dried. If buying tofu in an unsealed package, put it in a container with fresh water and change the water every couple days. If the outer surface if the tofu becomes slimy, that means it's starting to go bad. You can probably rinse it off, or cut off the outer layer of the tofu.
As with anything, if it smells bad, toss it out.
My favorite ways to cook tofu is in a stir-fry with onions and fresh veggies, or in a tofu scramble with turmeric powder, which makes it look like scramble eggs. Once you have cooked the tofu, it should keep in the refrigerator for a couple more days.
You can freeze tofu to keep it longer, as with meat and seafood. You should cover it with water in a container to avoid freezer burn. Freezing gives tofu a coarser texture.
For folks who don't like tofu's taste, try seasoning it with hot sauce, onions, and/or hot peppers. Other cultures like the Mexicans use hot spices to minimize the gassy effects of digesting beans.

Follow the date on the package.

It was "Rotten" when you put it there! (My opinion of tofu).

uhhh i had tofu yesterday and i almost threw up. but im sorry i dont know your answer

I wouldn't know ...Rotten food and Tofu taste the same.

You'd better throw it away...It is not very expensive, though...However it may cost your health if you eat it. Why don't you buy a new one?

Some things are still good way past the expiration date, however I don't think this would be one of them.
