“What is the world’s most extensively cultivated food?!

Question:

“What is the world’s most extensively cultivated food?

Answers:
wheat as a guess

Rice!

rice

probably potatoes or rice

Cannabis or poppies

that would be rice because it forms the main diet of most of india and nabouring countrys

I believe it is wheat. In the wonderful book, "The Botany of Desire", the author suggests (only partly in jest), that wheat has evolved more successfully than almost any other organism because by changing itself very little it has managed to employ another species (us) to spread its range across the whole globe!

UPDATE: I looked it up, and now know for sure it is wheat:

macdonald burgers........mmmmmmmm.....lu... try them

In foreign climes it is rice. Nearer to home it is the potato.

Skycat,
By volume, it is wheat.
Although rice comes a very close second.
Third is root veg, such as spuds.
I shall just dig into a "cultivated" trifle.
Yum - Oh what is this beer made from ? Er, corn.
There we go,
Bob

i would say cabbage, but No idea

I'm surpised it's not corn.

As a crop i would have to say wheat.

Rice, Rice, Rice

pie
