.....is that wrong? I don't really think it is bcuz i wouldnt eat it anyway, but my friend said it is....but then again she sometimes likes to just mean for no reason and get me all worried for no reason.....so now im just wondering is it wrong?
Answers:
you need to decide WHY you want to be a vegetarian.
If you are totally convinced about your reason for not eating meat, it shouldnt tempt you.
No, it's not wrong. Your body was used to meat and is reacting favorably to a familiar smell. Your mind has only partial control over these reactions. Don't feel guilty about it. You're not eating the stuff. Eat some veggie fake meats to get over the craving.
errr. something that is hard to admit for a vegetarian. most of the time I am sickened by the smells of meat.
But I have to say that chicken smells good. don't know why. wish it didn't. But I have not eaten meat in ten years. and of course will not. but yeah, I feel you.
you will have this craving for awhile... it will pass over time, for me it was easy because i did'nt eat a lot of meat growing up..for my mom it's hard she loves meaat but in the past year sha has begun to adopt a vegetarian lifstyle... but, once in a while she slips..and eats "cold-cuts" then she feels sick so, now when she gets the "craving for flesh" she simply ignores it.
no it not wrong.
iam veg for too for about 20 years some time you just have to keep think of about how would you like if they eat you and kill you.
not wrong at all. I've been veggie for 18 years, and i have no problem admitting that meat can smell, look, and taste good. That does not mean that it is a 'good' thing to eat. Heroin, I hear, can look, taste, and feel good. The fact that cooked meat can smell good has nothing to do with the ethical issues of eating meat.
modern man (woman) is a unique and complicated mamal (warm blooded animal), in to the fact that we are given the ability to not only , injest and digest plant life (vegitation / vegtables), but to injest and digest the flesh / meat of other animals (including other humans), and survive on either or both in combination. this instinct was genetically and eveloutionary to homosapiens as a survival instinct and ability. however our one major draw back is the need for fresh clean water in order to survive. without water we dehydrate quickly and perish. without meat we can survive on vegitation, without vegitation on meat / flesh, without either for several days. so you have limited yourself to only part of you instinctive primal survival ability's, and as such your instinct and primal survival ability's are telling you that what you are doing is not natural for homosapians and that it needs and wants flesh / meat in order to build up fat deposits in order to go without food for a period of time or even to increase bodily energy levels. homosapiens are hunter / gatherers and on the most primal and basic level, are considered as carnavors, and as killers for food in order to survive, eat or be eaten, the food chain, circle of life, kill or be killed, the thrill of the kill, etc., so what you are feeling is normal, what you are doing is not normal for homosapians., reguardless of whatever propoganda you've recieved from others, research and learn the truth for yourself., and embrace your primal side, but within acceptable social limits, after all we do not need another jeffery daumer .
hun, there is nothing wrong with that. when my momma fixes pork chops my mouth is just a watering. it just takes time to completely get meat out of your mind.
try to think WHY you a vegetarian and all the health benifits your getting from not eating that animal flesh.
If you were brought up as I was to eat meat then ofcourse this isn't wrong....I have been a vegetarian for over 10 years and for years this was hard for me as well. However, this DOES go away with time. In fact, I find that the smell of animal flesh is nauseating to me now. A great alternative to caving into eating meat are soy replacements or "fake meats." They have completely taken any cravings for meat away for me. Examples: Boca burgers, Boca among other brands make almost every kind of fake meat you can think of to replace real meat. This will really work for you. Check out your organic section in the grocery store. Good luck! And you are awesome for not eating animals....if they had a voice they would surely thank you!
NO!! You associate the smell with a pleasant taste and you cannot erase that memory from your mind. The important thing is that you don't eat it. if you developed diabetes and didn't eat sugar at all, you would probably still enjoy the smell of someone baking cake!!! tell your friend to lighten up and enjoy! try to give her a little sympathy for her attempts to be mean for no reason show that she has some issues of her own that she is struggling to deal with.
I don't understand what your asking... Is it wrong that you think meat smells good? No.
Is it wrong that your sort of craving it? Not really.
Does that mean your going to give up your moral convictions and eat meat? I hope not.
Most people find that once they have been Veg*n long enough they find the smell of meat to be disgusting. It only took me about 3 months of not eating it to feel this way. Some people take longer. Becoming Vegan seems to speed this process but I'm not sure why.
If I totally missed the mark, please clarify what your asking and I try to answer your question better then.
no you cant help what smells you find appetizing. just try hard to stick with your diet, if that is what you believe in.
Of course it smells good. You spent your whole life eating it, so you are conditioned to eat it. Over time, you will begin to dislike the smell....just give it some time.
And good job for going veggie!
maybe it isnt the smell of the "meat" itself, as it is all the spices and seasonings that smell good. my boyfriend makes steaks for him and his friends, and the garlic-soy sauce he puts on them smells good, but his one friend eats his steak plain, and when he throws just the steak on the grill and all you smell is the meat itself cooking, it doesnt smell nearly as good....
