Do vegetarians drink milk?!

Question:

Do vegetarians drink milk?

Answers:
Vegetarians do but vegans dont http://www.recipesforvegans.co.uk/whyveg...

It depends on the person. Some vegetarians are stricter than outher....some people choose to eat eggs and milk, but no meat because the animal is killed in order for us to eat it. Others are called Vegans and they are a very strict type of vegetarian that will not eat product that comes from an animal - this includes milk, eggs, meat, etc.

Yes; milk is a good source of protein.

Vegans drink soy milk instead of milk from an animal.

vegetarians drink milk because they are the people that say they dont want to eat meat because it is killing a living thing. then there are vegans. they are the people that say they dont want to eat or wear or have anything to do with anything from an animal which means milk, leather shoes, meat, eggs, cheese, any dairy products etc. etc.

Vegetarians do but vegans ( by definition) do not since milk is animal product.

They may.

While, in the strictest definition of "vegetarianism" milk IS an animal product and therefore "out", those who do drink milk (and eat cheese, etc.), often refer to themselves as "Lacto-vegetarians".

With the addition of eggs, the person becomes an "ovo-lacto-vegetarian".

It gets weird after this.

Best wishes!

vegetarians will drink milk, unless they are very strict about their diet. vegans however won't eat any animal product, so milk is out.

yes, vegans dont

Yes people who don't eat dairy are vegans

Some vegetarians do, but I don't.

No. A lot of people like to say that they are Vegetarian because it's a pretty trendy thing is some places and also a lot of people are very ignorant. "I'm a vegetarian but I drink milk, eat cheese, and sometimes eat fish." This is silly. This is why the term 'vegan' was invented in the USA because of all these 'wanna-be' people.

In most places in the world outside of the USA/Canada/UK vegetarian means vegetarian. Thus, no animal products. There are no weird different degrees of milk or fish eating vegetarians.

I talk to people from different countries and either you eat animal products or you don't. If you eat a little dairy or a little milk from time to time, you are not. In other places in the world, not eating animal products has been a part of their culture for thousands of years and is really no big deal and part of most every major religion. Being a vegetarian in another country is no different than saying that you are an iron worker and only work at this one type of job. No big deal. Everyone knows what a vegetarian is and what an iron worker is, and no one questions them.

yes, there are vegetarians who drink milk. i personally do not, because i don't like the taste and it seems kinda disgusting to me to be drinking another animal's milk. i still eat some dairy products and i put milk on my cereal, but i haven't had a glass of milk in a few years.

It depends on the type of vegetarian really. Ovo-lacto-,lacto-, and semi-vegetarians do. Ovo-vegetarians and vegans do not.
(ovo- just refers to eggs and lacto- to lactose)

It depends. Vegetarians may drink milk, vegans do not.

yes, but vegan vegetarians don't. Vegans drink soy milk. Its on the market and its great!

yup
