How much water is in a tomato?!

Question:

How much water is in a tomato?

How much water content is in a tomato and a carrot?

Answers:
A tomatoe is 85% and carrot is 31%

a tomato is 60% water

I would guess the high 90s %.

Half the weight of a tomato is water,Sorry don't know about a carrot

That is easy. Weigh the fruit, cut it up to increase the surface area , then set it out to dry ( use the oven when you are baking something for dinner ) and then weigh it again. The difference will be the water.

You could estimate this yourself. Go to the grocery store and get a package of dried tomatoes (sun dried taste best). Make sure they are not packed in oil. Compare these to regular tomatoes.
It has to be 90%+ by weight or volume. A dried tomato is the size of a potato chip.
