Fast food nation wasn't lying?!

Question:

Fast food nation wasn't lying?

I didn't know how true it was when they(Fast Food Nation) showed many illegal immigrants working in slaughterhouses, but now I know.I think this is kind of sad though. :-(
What do you think?

Just more proof that animal exploitation and human exploitation go hand in hand.

WOW Crazy People!

I was shocked when I read that.
Makes me real glad I haven't eaten meat in 12 years ;)

I would suspect that there are tens of thousands illegally working in the fields that many of our fruits and veggies come from also.

Yeah, that is pretty sad. They come here to work only to send money back home to support their families, too bad they come to america illegaly. Its crazy they busted 800 of them. Im with you o this one, it is sad. Good book by the way

It's unfortunately true. It's actually really sad, too. 'cause then they don't have to pay the immigrants AS much. The slaughterhouses are just really disgusting. Just the WAY they kill the animals off is gross.
I`m so glad I`m vegan.

If you think about this it makes sense, this industry likely has problems getting workers so these people are taken on "no questions asked". They are likely paid a sub-standard wage on top of everything else. You're right, it is sad.

Haha Yo yo.

Hi

I read the book a few years ago and it shocked my socks off. Is the film out in the US? I knew what happened in slaughterhouses already hence being a veggie. When I read about all of the imigrant exploitation, the poor health and safety laws and the filthy squalid conditions it made me barf !!! BTW this is a 'Typical US' slaughter house and I'm NOT preaching because Britain is not brilliant either. Look at the recent primary school lunches incident that happened over here!! No meat can be good meat in my eyes but hiding the source from parents is shocking !!!!

Good on them making a film of this, if only a handful of people watch this and decide to turn Vegetarian or Vegan then it is a job well done !!!

I have decided to become a vegan in the New Year. Shortly after I made my mind up I heard that dairy farming here is no longer viable due to massive losses and that we may be importing milk from abroad soon (who knows where from??? Maybe from countries where negilible pus and blood are allowed in milk with hormones and antibiotics.)

I feel a question coming on....
