Question: How can you tell (physical signs) if fresh, cut up pineapple is turning bad!?
I usually keep my freshly cut pineapple slices in an air-tight container in the fridge!. How long can it stay like that!? How will I know if it begins to go bad (before growing mold)!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

it gets all brownish and mushy ,has a chemical smell to it and will disolve a slice of bananna in a couple daysWww@FoodAQ@Com

If it starts turning translucent; if you start to see an unusually large amount of juice in the container; if the fruit pieces appear duller -- these are signs I usually note to tell if cut pineapple (or melon, too, actually) isn't so fresh!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
