No, it isnt' gross!. The reason is that salt is a flavour enhancer, makes food taste stronger!. Some people add vinegar and/or black pepper to strawberries for the same reason, weird but not gross!. Don't forget that somebody's food is another person's poison :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Since when I was a little kid we did that!. On watermelon too!. But a small amount!.!.!.I love balsamic vinegar on fresh strawberries, some may think that is weird!.!.We also liked a scoop of vanilla icecream in the bowl of a canteloupe!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it is the only civilized way to eat melon!. i grew up eating salt on canteloupe and other melons it taste great!.!!!!! try it sometime, you might like it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
