I am a tad bothered about the perceived "snobbiness" of caviar, are you ?!
Hi Folks,
I don't know how much you like caviar, some just rant on and on about it!.
Mostly because it can be very pricy!.
No other reason!.
I don't hear the horray henries ranting on about fish fingers !
The muck is OK, if someone else is buying!.
But I have seen plenty people go "oh, yums, caviar", when actually they don't like black fish eggs!.
Any notions !?

Personally I like the stuff quite a lot actually but I'll admit I can't afford the better varieties it unless I'm overseas where a lot of it is much less expensive!. There are inexpensive caviars that anyone can have but the tastes are very different and some even come in jars from supermarket shelves!. I'm very suspect of caviar that doesn't have to be refrigerated though!.
How can you really be sure all the people who say they like it don't!? I'm sure there are people who do say they like it and really don't but I think the snobbiness is theirs really!. Seems they're trying to impress someone by saying they like it when they don't!. Sad for them!.!.!.if the people they're trying to impress that way actually are impressed by something as trivial as that, they deserve each other!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hate caviar and sorry to say I hate fish fingers too!.
I believe that there are some things in this world that are worth the high price and others that are hyped by popularity!. I like lobster, good champagne and truffles but I very rarely get them because I can't justify the price!. In fact, I have never bought a truffel (just tried them while dining out)!.
Merely liking something costly is not snobbery!. Snobbery is when you flaunt it!.

you can actually get cheap caviar from places like the portugese grocer (can't remember the name) in vauxhall, london where i get my fix!. it's ￡2!.99 for a glass tub, roughly the size of my palm and 2 inches tall!.
