I bought a joint of beef and froze it!.

I often throw a joint into the slow cooker with a couple of cans of cranberry jelly and normally it turns out great!.

One thing I didn't do is sear it this time!.

The smell is a little weird and I don't want to throw it out!.

If you didn't sear it, you could be smelling a boiled meat smell which some people find a little unpleasant!. If it has been in the freezer for more than a few months then it may have some freezer burn!.

I am overly cautious and never hesitate to pitch something I think may have gone past its prime! Much better to be safe than sorry for the next few days with food poisoning!Www@FoodAQ@Com

your kidding me you cook it and it smells weird or bad!.!.!.hmmm why don't you taste it for poison!.!.!. just a lick it wont BITE YOU! no, don't throw it out!. Just taste it and see if its good if not chuck it!. :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's probably ok!.!.!.but do want to take the chance!? For the price of a beef joint it's better to discard than to get sick!Www@FoodAQ@Com
