Why do people like the taste of some things but not others?!

There are more than one aspect to this:
Some of us have a "sweet tooth" and some prefer salty tastes!.
The son of one of my friends thinks chocolate tastes disgusting and prefers potato chips!.
According to the needs of pregnant women it seems like the hormons also can affect what you have a taste for!.
The amount of active responding tastebuds on your tounge is also unfairly distributed betveen us!. There are "super tasters" with thousands of active tastecells and there are "taste ignorants" with as few as a couple of hundred in activity!.
When you have a sinus infection / a cold with swollen nose and sore mouth your taste machinery is out of order!.
In the sinuses behind your nose the cells that can tell the different aromas are located!. Your tounge can only tell the different 4,5 or 6 tastes (there are some indifference in how many ) myself i lean to 6 tastes including Umami and Strong!.
And so there are those like myself that find great (to much) comfort in a chocolate bar and uses some food as a "reward"!.
Then in some cultures they eat ants as sweets and some chew leafs and stems!. SO!.!.!.
