oranges when left unpeeled are well, protected by the peel and the insides not being exposed to air!. the same goes for apples and apple juice!. slice open an apple and you see what happens within a few minutes!. the same thing happens to an orange but it happens slower because of all the citrus acid!.
When you juice any fruit or vegetable you remove the protective "shield" that keeps the flesh and juices from going bad so rapidly!. Juice is all the sweet moisture inside the fruit which has been exposed during the squeezing juicing process!. You need to refrigerate the juice because it is exposed to the air and other micro-organizims in the air!. Refrigeration does not stop spoilage it only slows it down!. Hope this helps!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Oranges have that natural wrapper on them!. The orange juice is exposed, open to all kinds of bacteria!. The sugar in it allows the bacteria to reproduce and grow like mad!. Keep it in the fridge, the cold helps keep the bacteria from reproducing :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
