Snack food to take to the hospital....?!

Question: Snack food to take to the hospital!.!.!.!.!?
Hi! My Papaw is having knee surgery tomorrow and we (several family members) are going to be at the hospital most of the day while he is in surgery!. I am trying to come up with some snack food ideas, but I am blank! Give me some lists of things or recipes of things that I could bake to take! Thanks!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Muffins, cookies, things that can be eaten without plates or alot of mess and travel well!. also, just some fruit that can be eaten like it is would be really easy!. Banannas, apples, plums!.!.!.anything like that!. You can also make up some sandwiches, like tuna or ham and cheese and wrap them individually in plastic wrap or foil so that they can easily be passed out!. I would take some bottled water or sodas (both is better) in a little cooler too!. And if you have adults there, some good coffee in a thermos would be great too!. Hospital coffee isn't usually very good, so I'm sure they would appreciate that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hope that your papaw does well!. Here are some ideas for snacks you might bring:

1!. Several cheeses and artisan crackers
2!. Sliced meats, such as salami, sopressata, turkey
3!. Gourmet olives
4!. Fresh fruit: grapes, strawberries
5!. Brownies, oatmeal cookies
6!. Lots of bottled water, sodasWww@FoodAQ@Com

I spent a lot of time in the hospital with family and ate graham crackers and peanut butter, or apple slices and peanut butter, crackers with cheese slices, fresh strawberries and some sparkling water or just water!. Just prepare early and take a little cooler!.
Good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You want things that can be hand-held (no plate needed) and don't need refrigeration, either!.

Peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches, cut in quarters!.

Apples, bananas, grapes, etc!.

Cookies!. (These often go first--two kinds is fine!)

Raisins!.

Nuts!.

Crackers!.

Lots of change for vending machines, for a cold drink or coffee/tea!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Little chicken wings would be good!. Just fry some up!. But if you want healthy, bake them!. Chicken can keep after it's been cooked (just not in the heat)!. Fresh fruit is always good!. Cut watermelon in tupperware!. Maybe some raw almonds because almonds make your stomach work harder making you feel full!. also some carrots, cut bite size!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Make a trail mix of dry-roasted nuts, dried fruit and chocolate or yogurt covered raisins!. You can put it into individual baggies, if you want!.!.!.!. Peanut butter & jelly sandwiches cut into quarters !.!.!. carrot & celery sticks !.!.!. bunches of grapesWww@FoodAQ@Com
