Can you taste the difference between organic and regular food?!


Question: I appreciate the fact that food that is grown organically is better for the environment, and likely better for people; however, I have a hard time believing that there's a substantial difference in taste. Can you honestly taste a difference, and if you believe you can, are you sure it's not just psychological?

If somebody thinks they can I'd sure like to see the published results of a double blind scientifically conducted test. I guess I'm saying I've worked with organic food for a long time and I don't believe there's a difference.

the biggest difference is that organic food is quite a bit more expensive. i'm a bit of a cheap@ss so i'll roll with regular all the time.

I eat a lot of organic foods and the only difference that i can tell is in the organic milk and organic eggs. They taste so much better.

I cant tell the difference what-so-ever. Maybe the only organic thing is the $$$ they get in their pockets?

and yes the pro was right on the other 3 just so so..
BUT fruits and vegetables..? it is most unlikely because the simple nature is,, the plants roots absorb the nutrients that it needs.. the fruit or veggies DNA makes it a tomato or ? a carrot..NOT the fertilizer (hydroponics ???)
The chemical structure of the vitamins and minerals are the same...

In my opinion, organic and regular food taste the same. The main difference is that organic food is more expensive.

The taste depends on the cook and not the grain or food mostly but yes if you really get down to it ,certain food grains organically grown from natural seeds do taste much better and not harmful as genetically grown food grains.Some of the bean & pulse varieties that I have tasted are amazing in taste compared to the sad artificial varieties. I believe the extra premium is truly worth it in the long term health benefits.

There have been studies done that ( I think apples) that show people prefer the taste of organic foods. Of course, it's all subjective and preference so I wouldn't go on taste alone. I will say this though, I've had fruit and veggies in other countries that sell them from local farmers and they sure are sweeter than anything I've had in the US. I try to buy as much organic as I can, especially milk, eggs, and the produce I know is covererd most in pesticides. Your doing your health and the environment a favor :)
