How to make these cupcakes and store them?!

Question: How to make these cupcakes and store them?
Well It'll be a first time making them. I want to surprise my friends and make some cupcakes, red velvet cupcakes to be specific. We're going to be gathering on friday most likely. But I don't know how to make them so they'll be fresh. Should I make them the day before and just keep it in the fridge? Or should I just make them early in the morning? Ah I'm not a baking expert so I need help. Thanks for all the help you offer!

Answers:

Cupcakes tend to dry out quickly. The best thing to do would be to make them the day you are going to serve them. If that is not possible then the night before would be my second choice.
Once baked and cooled place in an airtight container and you can store them at room temperature. If you store them in the refrigerator the refrigerator will also dry them out a bit so frost them first.
The more of the top you cover with frosting the less surface there is to allow the cake to dry out. So cover completely.

You don't know how to bake, yet you plan on having your friends eat them. Not very smart. You must love being criticized. Go to the bakery and buy cupcakes.

I would suggest making them the day OF if you want them to be fresh. That way, you can just get them ready and go. Simple as that. :D

DO NOT PUT THEM IN THE FRIDGE!! And personally I'd make them on the morning before and then store them in an airtight container (:
