Question: Im turning 24 on the 16th of may and I'd like to have a theme for my party. Id like some sort of theme that would allow people to dress up. Id like to hear some suggestions from people that have had successful theme parties of wat theme they used and how successfull it was.

seeing it is your birthday have a B theme people can come as anything that starts with B you will have a few Barbies turn up and some Builders ,bitches and bikes, bakers and brides, bridemaids and beach bums get my drift

Looks like you already have a Western theme picked out, partner.

60's....is always popular.

i've never done it...

but i'd say like, a .. i cant spell it. a loooaw. the hawaiian ****.

that way... you could totally decorate it easy as crap (go to your local paper store) andddd... if its warm enough.. girls can wear bikini's and grass skirts.
bahahahaha.

and, there's a magazine with TONS of stuff to decorate parties with.. but i cant think of it to save my life. i'll call my mom tomorrow and get back to you.

I had a disco theme at my 25th and everyone loved it. Everyone had afro wigs and big sunglasses, it was awesome. But that's just me and my friends, you probably have a whole new type of circle of friends with different personalities.

try candy party were all food are yummy sweets

If you want it to be really easy you could just use your fave colour and everyone can dress up in that.
It will be easy to decorate/eat in those colours too.

Well, tomorrow's my birthday party (and my 15th), and i'm having an 80's theme. Everyone has to dress up 80's (its awesome), and im making some 80's music discs. =]

um a fancy dress competition or dress up like your favourite celeb

mystery parties are fun

I've been to some great fancy dress parties with these themes: Musicals (anything from the Blue Man group to West Side Story); Pop Stars; Cartoon Characters; and one where the host picked his favourite movie directors (Cameron, Spielberg and Lucas, but you could choose any director or genre that appeals, like Horror or Film Noir).

Decade themes are fun (60s, 70s, 80s--if you're 24 then you were born in the 80s so you might choose that, your parents might be able to help you out with clothes and music!)

Other party themes I've heard of are: Royalty, Come As A Song, Black and White, or a letter theme--pick the letter your name begins with and ask everyone to come as something beginning with the same letter.

Costume parties are great fun if people really get involved. I'm always amazed how inventive people are!

i had a pimps and hoes party
but im a couple of years younger so its probably more suitable for my age group
the girls dressed pretty skanky but glamorous and the guys dressed like blinged out gentleman haha it was really successful!

i think it depends on what you friends would enjoy as a whole because you want to have a good time make sure its something that they will support u with

have a seventies or an eighties theme! have everyone dress from that time period and play name that tune, or even karaoke!!!
