Does this sound OK to serve for a party?!

Question: We're having a few friends over for dinner and I was thinking of serving beef kebabs with mushroom rice, some fresh fruits and a nice stuffed angel food cake for dessert. I was thinking of trying out a sangria recipe I found as well. Good menu/bad menu....any suggestions? There's no 'theme' or anything, just a group of friends getting together for dinner.

I think it sounds good.

My one word of warning would be that the menu is kind of light.

I'm thinking of our friend, Kevin, who can eat two whole stuffed green peppers when he comes over. Kebabs tend to be light, as is rice (which not everyone eats). For people like him, I usually try to serve a potato dish or a really nice veggie dish (steamed asparagus sauteed with shitake mushrooms is ALWAYS a big hit!).

you might have salad. kebabs are not very filling.

Sounds wonderful to me!!! I would add a tossed salad and warm dinner rolls...but really sounds nice.

Am I invited? Pleaaaaase! It sounds fine. I think I might add a cheese plate to the fruit.

don't forget hor devours

Maybe serve an appetizer.

Sounds good, but think of one more side or appetizer, because I know from experience alot of people don't like rice.
maybe stuffed mushrooms, or like a taco dip too.
Good luck, sounds like a fun party to me.

Sounds good, we like asparagus, also you can ask the people who are coming if they would like to bring an appetizer, it is a great way to try new things.

thats ok

uummm, where you from? Where I am from, you can never go wrong with a good BBQ. That and some nice finger foods.

I was gonna suggest to add a veggie but you're saying you might to asparagus, green beans would work well also.
Don't forget to do appertizers, yo've got the main meal and desserts covered.

Oh yeah and dinner rolls or some type of bread to go with your main meal is always good. As well as a nice salad.

I think it sounds good.

That sounds so delicious!

I think it sounds delicious; I would enjoy that meal if I went to a friends for dinner.

I would serve the kebabs with some warm pitta or nann bread to bulk it out and a mint yoghurt dip and maybe some mango chutney or a tomato salsa (hot and spicy)

that sounds great! add some chicken and shrimp too!

That sounds like a very nice menu. It is something that is not an ordinary everyday kind of menu your friends should enjoy it. Have fun!

great! YUM!!!!

Hmm,... I think i will eat before i go to the party.
