50th Birthday Party Ideas?!

Question: Okay so my dads 50th birthday is in a few weeks and we are looking for some kind of cool "theme" to do the party in. he is kind of a redneck guy...like he loves larry the cable guy and the dukes of hazzard and that kind of stuff...I am looking for some kind of funny saying that people put on signs and invitations. Like for a 40th anniversary someone might do the "Lordy Lordy they made it 40" or whatever
we are just looking for something kinda funny like that
or maybe just some general ideas
it is a suprise birthday party if that means anything
any ideas?? Thanks!!!

Help John GIT-R-DONE at his 50th birthday party!- make it all Larry the Cable Guy theme- have guests dress in plaid or camouflage. play his comedy tapes on the TV, have plaid or camo decorations, maybe some poster animal targets on the walls, have a contest for best dressed Larry impersonation- give a DVD of Larry to the winner (make sure you mark best dressed Larry gets special prize on invites), maybe have a hat full of one liners from the comedy acts that your guests choose one and have to say it to your dad during the night, you can give away little items like bumper stickers or something that say Git-R-Done on them as party favors. or buy a Larry CD and make copies to give as party favors so when guests leave they can listen to it in their car as they drive away remembering the fun party!
get a photo cake made of Larry- maybe photoshop a picture of your dad in there with him- find good images online, print it out and take it to the grocery store and they make a picture cake with it.
for his present buy him tickets to see Larry when he comes to your town to go along with the theme! http://www.larrythecableguy.com/appear/
make a picture board of your dads pics throughout the years from birth to current (funnier the better!)- we did that for my moms 60th and she had such a good time showing off her pics to everyone!

Oh no, say it isn't so. Not the big 5-0!

I can't believe you're 50; 49 maybe, but never 50!

50! I demand a recount.

got a perfect idea u seen blue collar comedy tour? u know at end they sitting there talkin about redneck funerals make it a redneck funeral theme with all the theme stuff from larry and bill and ron and jeff with a homemade casket full of beer and food can be really fun you know when u turn 50 they always have over the hill or all down hill themes that way you can incorporate his favorites and an original theme and make it fun

you can do an over the hill party. i once made a coffin cake out of chocolate and used the left-over cake to create dirt around the edges. i even took some miniature fake white rose bunches and painted the ends with a black sharpie and put thin black ribbon down the front of the coffin. then i made mini loaf cakes with green icing using a wilton(cake decorating) grass tip to look like grass on a grave and used tombstone shaped sugar cookies with letters piped on them in icing. either each letter of his name or just D A D. it was pretty awesome and fun. and since he is the "redneck" type(obviously from texas?) you can use the phrase on the banner: look out dixie, (insert name) is fifty. hope that helps
