How long do cooked chicken wings stay good!? I got an order of fried wings, and left them sit out overnight!!?
Seriously, I got a dozen hot wings from a wings place last night!.!.!.!.they came of course really hot (just out of the deep fryer) and I left them in the box they came in!. I put the box on the kitchen counter, unopened, and then something came up and the next morning realized I never put them in the fridge! So they were sitting out for like 14 hours!. Are they OK to refridgerate and them microwave and eat!? I would think that they were put in a rather sterile environment, you know, out of the super hot deep fryer into the box, so the chance of nasties starting to grow was low!. Thoughts!? Opinions!? Insults!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Its all relative, for instance, how clean is your kitchen!?
It only takes poultry about an hour to reach temperatures conducive to the growth of salmonella and streptococcus bacteria!. If your kitchen is like mine (ie clean, but not obsessive) then it may not be safe more than 4-6 hours outside of a ziplock in the fridge!. Again, that's relative to what germs you got in your kitchen, which you don't know!.
Go ahead and throw it, 14 hours is too long, and you can always go get more fresh buffalo wings later!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I've had food poisoning too many times to take chances!.
Once any meat dish has been out for 5 hours or longer we toss it!. This includes pizza!.
If refrigerated, we date the package and give it a maximum of one week, less if it's seafood!.
Best of luck!.!.!.!.!. no matter how badly I wanted them, there is NO WAY I'd eat those wings!Www@FoodAQ@Com
That's something that should be refrigerated if not eaten within 4 hours!. If you eat them you may end up on the toilet for a long time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Well if you like gambling with food poisoning go ahead and eat them! However, I wouldn't!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
They sit out at parties for hours and hours and nobody worries!.!.!.just because you slept instead of mingled!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
i think u can still eat them but they wouldnt taste as good as when they were newly cooked, they may be a little!.!.!. stale!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Throw them out!. Even though the heat killed any beasties initially, chicken is a parishable and should be refridgerated at least after an hour of being left out!.
Even a sterile environment doesn't guarantee freshness!. I once ordered chicken from a fast food place and it was between the lunch and dinner hours!. It's likely the chicken sat under the warming lights for a few hours, a great breeding ground for bacterium!.
The result!? I was deathly ill and you know what happens with food poisoning!. Let's just say, I lost 15 pounds!.
DO NOT EAT THE CHICKEN! It's not worth it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
