when I think of Haiti I think of tropical- and since your party is for them you should try to decorate to fit the theme!.
I would suggest palm leaves down the center of the tables as a runner- then some sort of wooden bowls filled with fruits that are somewhat native to that country- or wooden stands for pillar candles!.
or you could do balloon arrangements in the colors of their countrys flag- those are pretty inexpensive and easy
you could also try to incorporate pictures of Haitian people into your tables- so guests can actually see who they are helping- try to pick happy pictures, just not really sad ones cuz who wants ot look at that when they're eating!? maybe print out some pictures and place them in small frames on the tables or one at each place setting for the guests to take home with them to remind them of the joy helping others brings!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pumpkins!. Fits the season and you can raffle them off for fifty cents a ticket which is cheaper than buying them at the store for your kids!. All you need is a large pumpkin and some strands of fall colored leaves from a fabric store!. The strands usually run around $2 a piece and if you get pumpkins in bulk you can probably strike a deal!. If you say its a fundraiser you might even get them for free!. Place the pumpkins in the center with the leaves around the bottom!. Cheap, easy, way to make more money, and cute to boot!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You must have some old Mardi Gras beads and mask around:) How about clear glass vases and jars of different sizes (go to a dollar store), and drape the beads around them; prop the masks up - put some colored pebbles and a green, purple or gold candle in each - or put some small Christmas bulbs in those colors into the vasesWww@FoodAQ@Com

the best one i ever saw was a massive square glass vase filled up with layers of different chocolate balls, looks good- white chocolate, milk, dark in stripes and you can eat it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
